Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach second grade in a high poverty area. Our school is a Reading First School so our focus has been on Reading. My students are struggling in Math, Science, and Social Studies because of this.

My students love our carpet time as we use this time to share, have math meeting, and review skills during our morning meeting. Without an easel, it is really hard to review concepts we have learned. Right now, I have a little whiteboard I write on and it is extremely difficult for them to see it!

My class needs an easel, as this will have a bigger whiteboard for me to use during our math meeting and morning meeting. This will help my kids review math concepts and work on our spelling and grammar skills! By having this easel, my kids will receive daily reviews of concepts which will help them grasp concepts by the end of the year. I will be able to use big magnetic money to teach money during Math!

Your help will ensure that my students succeed in all subjects in school! You will make it possible for my students to be able to see what we are reviewing and have a better grasp on the concepts we are learning. You will make a difference in how my kids learn! My students will be extremely grateful as this will be used during morning meeting, math meeting, and workstations throughout the day! You will make it possible for my students to enjoy learning!
