I teach First Grade at a Charter School in a very low income district in New York. My students work incredibly hard and deserve every resource we can give them.

Every year, we borrow about 50 books from the public library for our Nonfiction unit using my library card. Unfortunately, in First Grade, books get taken home, torn, and vanish into thin air. This leaves me with some hefty fines!

I selected some of the students' favorite Nonfiction topics and authors. It would be amazing if we had these books as our very own to read all year long without ever having to worry about late fees.

Our class absolutely loves the Nonfiction unit. The whole class loves to read about Egypt, dinosaurs, sharks, penguins, and humans, too! With your help, these new Nonfiction books will enable us keep up this enthusiasm all year!
