I am a high school special education teacher in New York. I teach underprivileged kids in an impoverished area. These kids are mainly from the less fortunate New Yorkers. They need to come to school and learn in an atmosphere that is not only beautiful but also encourages them to learn.

I presently have no book cases in my room. I recently was given a lot of brand new and used novels and other fictional books. With these new books we have the beginnings of a beautiful library.

A library is not complete without bookcases. Right now we are using milk crates and cardboard boxes to store our books. It will be much nicer if we had actual bookcases instead of cardboard boxes to display our books.

Please help us create our classroom library with style and practicality. What we ask for is not a greed but a need. With a library we will be able to display our books by genre and be able to see them all at once rather than in random boxes.
