A place for everything and everything in its place...a place for books to inspire minds, that is what we need! I teach English to freshmen. The school is very big and so crowded that some classes are being conducted in trailers.

I teach my English classes in one of the trailers. The trailers are small, compared to regular classrooms in the school building. I have a full class with a roster of 30 - 31 young adolescents. Space becomes an issue in a small classroom with 30 teenagers. The issue is compounded when we try to inspire students to read yet are not able to give them a selection of books to tickle their reading fancy. An English classroom that has no place for books but in boxes and the floor will not inspire young students to read.

One bookcase for our classroom library will put order to what is otherwise systematic chaos in the classroom. When the students see what is available for them to read, the choice is presented. There is that possibility for them to choose a book. If the books were in boxes, very few students will take the initiative to rummage through the box to find something they could read.

Your help will ensure that my students have a chance to see the choices for inspiration that might move them to become the great men and women they could become. The spark might just be in one of the books that will be on the shelves of the book case you will donate to my classroom.
