I teach first grade in a rural Kentucky elementary school, where we have 70% Free/ Reduced lunch. Teachers in my school district are given $200 a year, which is meant to cover the costs of everything that we need for our classroom and students (paper, pencils, staples, tape, band-aids, construction paper, books, educational materials, field trips, snacks, etc.) I am sure that you can guess that we end up spending several thousand dollars of our own money to create a positive learning environment for our students. I would be very grateful for any help that you could offer and my students will be much more comfortable with the new table, so that they can sit without "Knocking Their Knees."

The majority of my students come from homes where they share their needs with their siblings and where they have to share their food with one another. My students come to school not always clean and in many cases very sleepy. I really want to create a classroom environment where they are comfortable and where they can relax. In order to do this, I need your help. The current tables that I have now are made to fit 3 and 4 year olds (preschool students). My kids try to squeeze their legs under the table every day. I want to provide them with tables where they have room to work with their materials and a table that their legs will easily slide under. It is heart breaking to see the conditions that my students come from each day, so I want to give them the best in my classroom. Please help me accomplish this.

My students love learning about current events and scientific topics. They would really benefit from Weekly Readers. It would help them with reading and in many cases, bring a love for reading. We do not have any books that apply to the current world, so we would really benefit from this subscription. The new classroom table would mean so much to me! It is heartbreaking to see students struggle to fit their knees under a table and to see them so uncomfortable when we are working so hard. This new table would make it possible for my students to be comfortable in the classroom. Please help us! I have a great group of first graders that would be so surprised and excited to have this new table in our classroom. THANKS!!!

Donors- Please help us! My students don't have cable, so they don't know what is happening in the world. Weekly Readers will help with that. My students don't have comfortable places to sit at home or at school, you can help with this. Please help me create a nurturing environment for my 6 year olds. My kids are so young and they need a new table that is conducive to learning. I know that I don't like to sit in places where my legs won't fit, so I know my kids don't enjoy it. PLEASE help me give them comfort so that they can achieve to their full ability.
