I teach 25 very energetic 3rd graders ranging in age from 8 to 9. We live in a rural town about 50 miles from our capital city. The majority of the children at our school receive free or reduced lunches. Our school is considered a Title I school, which means we rely heavily on funding from the federal government.

Our district recently purchased a computer-based math program that is designed to take the students from the current level they are on and accelerate them to the appropriate level or higher level in which they need to be. The program is researched based and is proven to improve the essential and basic math skills that 3rd graders should have. I am so excited to have access to this program! I know that I can help my children by using it everyday.

In order to implement the computer based math program in my classroom, I will need a Hewlett Packard laser printer. The HP printer will be used to print out pretest and post test scores, practice sheets, and tests generated by the program on the computer. The children will have math practice everyday and will be evaluated once a week. The printer is also needed to print the daily reports. I will use these reports to help me know what I need to do to further help my children be successful in math.

Your help will ensure that my students continue to improve and master the basic math skills they need to succeed in school and in life. I really would love to be able to implement this program in my classroom. I know it would make a difference. I would actually be able to immediately read the reports printed on the HP laser printer and be able to practice whatever objective that they need to master. I would really appreciate your support. My children would enjoy the immediate feedback and the feeling of success each time they completed an objective on the computer math program.
