Hello! Thanks for taking a look at my project proposal! I teach gifted enrichment to 123 students at a rural, low-income Alabama elementary school. Many of my students come from poverty and have very little. They are so eager to learn and give 100% effort every day.

My students are very creative, and when they are able to engage in art, they have something that is all their own and they have creative opportunities that they rarely experience outside the classroom. But how can we complete art projects without any paint? Alabama schools are in a state of proration this year. This means that teachers receive absolutely no funding for classroom supplies. We were in this situation last year as well, and I spent almost $2,000 out-of-pocket so that my students could have the materials that they needed.

Thank goodness I found Donors Choose! The difference that the donations from this wonderful organization have made in my classroom is amazing. I'm counting on your help once again. During our art unit, students are learning to replicate painting techniques from famous artists such as Paul Klee, Diego Rivera, and Vincent van Gogh. To do this successfully, my students need a variety of colors of tempera and watercolor paint.

By providing paint for my students, you will be allowing them an opportunity to create anything and everything they can imagine! Learning is PRICELESS, but basic instructional materials quickly add up for classroom teachers. Words can't express how much I appreciate the donations that are given to my students. They are so appreciative! After having other projects funded, one little boy in my room said, "It is so nice of people to help us when they don't even know us!" Once again, we would be grateful for any help you can provide in getting us the materials we need to succeed!
