I teach science in a K-5 Massachusetts public elementary school. We are a high-need community with 80% of our students receiving free lunch.

Our students received several grants this year which we used to visit our local state parks, benefit from the Boston Science Museum Traveling Programs, and to complete our two months water unit. We only have one school camera with which to record these events. The students who participated in them have determined that they would like to create a school scrapbook of events in order to revisit each place and perhaps create a travel brochure for the state parks.

These Kodak digital cameras would allow the students the opportunity to use photos from school events to create a scrapbook or powerpoint presentation in which they would reinforce writing skills, sequence of events, and even use photos to create answers to field trip scavenger hunts. They could share their photos with parents on Family Nights and present oral presentations to correlate with the pictures. The possibilities are endless!

Your support would be invaluable to us since it would provide our students with another avenue to connect with other students, parents, and the community. Oral fluency and writing skills would be painlessly reinforced!! Students in all grades would benefit - 400 of them!
