Securing Excellence Through Enrichment and Discovery!

My students need three digital cameras for their science/technology club and 1 LCD projector to display their projects.

Plant a SEED and it will GROW! I am a fifth grade teacher who teaches science in an under resourced urban community. I am also a Teacher for America alum who is now in my twelfth year of teaching. Currently, I run an enrichment science and technology program called the SEED Academy (Securing Excellence through Enrichment and Discovery), where technology is used as a learning tool to support the science curriculum for grades three through five.

My school lacks funds to purchase technology equipment to support our program. There are not enough LCD's in the building support instruction. Teachers have to compete with each other to sign out the LCD. Also, there are no funds available to purchase digital camera. Students in the program are unable to visually document their inquiry process for their technology projects.

My students are in desperate need of digital cameras to enhance their PowerPoint presentation, Photo Stories, and learning websites! The LCD projector will enhance students' ability to present their projects to other students to enhance the science curriculum.

Your help will ensure that my student will take ownership of their projects and demonstrate what they have learned through their inquiry process. You will make it possible for my students to learn advanced technology and scientific skills that will close the achievement gap between students in under-served communities from their more fortunate counterparts.
