I teach in an inner city public school, where technology and supplies are always in high demand.

In our classroom, we are still stuck with the old fashioned chalk board. The board gets filled up three times every class period, and much time is wasted erasing the board. Students are rushed in writing their notes because the boards have to be erased before the next set of notes can be written. On top of this, the chalk dust everywhere makes the classroom feel dirty and stuffy.

A solution to this will be to use an LCD projector, so that the board no longer has to be used. The LCD projector allows the teacher to use PowerPoint slides and an Elmo projector for lecture. This will be a huge advantage for the students, because with these kind of lectures, the lecture notes can be preserved and posted online for their future reference. This is not possible with lectures being on the blackboard. This would also be a great help for those who are absent.

Your generous donation will help my students take better quality notes. The time saved from no longer writing and erasing on the black board can be well used by my students to take down notes with ease, and they can have time to write their own thoughts in their notebooks alongside the given notes. Not only that, this kind of lecture and notetaking will help them prepare for college, where professors use such technology on a regular basis. Thank you!
