The funding cuts both locally and federally have taken a toll on classroom resources and any extra activities that might promote learning. I would love to have an author visit my classroom but the cost and travel expenses is just too much for my classrooms to raise. My students love to read and write. They also are very interested in technology. I would like to conduct reading groups with the two different books that are requested and then bring the authors of the two books to our classroom via Skype. This is why we need the Webcam. I feel this is a great opportunity for my students to read a book, then actually discuss the writing process of the book with the actual author answering their question in real-time. This activity will increase reading, writing and technology skills. This opportunity can not be possible without your donations. Please help Bring an Author to School project a reality for my students. Fields trips are no longer a possibility, so make this fun and exciting learning experience come true. Thank you. hide» My students need 26 copies "How I Survived Seventh Grade" by Denise Vega, 35 copies of "Buck Fever" by Cynthia Chapman Willis and a Logitech QuickCam WebCam. details» |
