CLICK! A picture is worth a thousand words and I want to give my students the ability to express those words. We are a first grade class that is creative and full of energy to try new things.

We read a number of photo essays in our reading curriculum. My students have commented multiple times that they would like to create a photo essay themselves. I am absolutely thrilled that they are interested in taking the writing process to this greater extreme.

In order to fulfill this wish for my students, I will need your help in obtaining the tools. We will need a quality digital camera that is easy to use for beginners and a photo printer that is easy to use and economic. With these tools, students will be able to capture images that relate to a topic they are interested in writing about and create a photo essay. The hands-on experience will help these first graders compete in the technological world of today. Students will learn to take pictures, download, edit, print, and create slide shows, photo essays, and much more.

With your help, my students will be able to capture their fondest memories and accomplishments of their first grade education. They will not only be able to capture it, but share it like no other first graders can.
