"I teach (and love teaching) Digital Media I and II to 9th and 10th grade students. Our school is in a very rural area. Of our 56 Freshmen, only one parent has a four-year degree. Our school is a technology-based school where students learn in a projects based setting.

Although our school is a technology centered school, budgeting constraints have drastically limited or eliminated our allocated resources. While our graduation requirement includes students creating an E-Portfolio, the E-Portfolio in no way replaces the printed portfolio. Students can update and change their printed portfolios as they learn and grow throughout their college years and beyond. As we prepare our students with 21st century skills, we prepare them for the college entry interviews as well. If our students could have their portfolios in printed, presentation form in-hand during their college interview, this would certainly get them a step closer to getting accepted into the college or university of their choosing. The printed portfolio will help them to compete with students in more affluent districts who are seeking the same slots in the same colleges.

The solution to this problem would be to have toner for the HP Color Laser jet Printer that we currently have available to the Digital Media classroom. While the printer is a wonderful resources, it is of no use without toner.

With your donation (no matter how big or how small), you will make it possible for my students to compete in the real-world environment against students with far greater resources at their disposal. Thanks to your help, my students will feel more confident and in fact will be more competent and prepared for college or entry level careers in spite of their past lacking of resources. I explain to them that while where they come from is, in fact important; that it is not nearly as important as where they are going. If you believe this as well, please help me convince my students that they are capable and competent by donating towards the toner they need to print their portfolios to prepare them for college entry interviews. Thank you, Ms. B HIDE

My students need 2 laser toner cartridges. The cost of this proposal is $1,058, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."
