Healthy lifestyle - it's about choices. I teach Physical Education to 5th - 8th grade students in a rural community. We have a high level of obesity in our community and student population.

Our students love high energy hands on activities. They love to work out with weights, stability balls, steps, and jump ropes. Many of our students do not enjoy playing sports, but, since we have started including weights into our fitness classes we have seen an increase in participation by these students. However, due to large class sizes, we do not have enough equipment to allow all students to participate at one time.

I need three different sizes of dumbbells - 3lb, 5lb, and 8lb, to use in fitness classes. Since we are teaching proper technique, rest, and spotting in our class, this will give us enough weights to provide half of our students with a set of weights to use with a partner.

Your help will ensure that my students will learn to take of care of their bodies in an appropriate and safe manner. This equipment will be used to teach and excite our students to care for their bodies as they grow and become active adults.
