Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have been blessed to work at an amazing school with truly inspiring students. In a building with five other high schools, our school has managed to stand out with its academic rigor and strong academic goals: all of our 11th grade students are participating in the International Baccalaureate program, something that is usually reserved for a select number of students, especially in a high needs, urban community. When my students were freshman, they read The Odyssey. Last year, we conquered Death of a Salesman and The Great Gatsby. I would love for my hard-working, intelligent students to be exposed to the great Dostoevsky this year.

Because of the budget cuts in New York, supplies have been cut. My school was not able to fund the materials I will need to successfully guide my students towards an International Baccalaureate diploma.

For my students to reach success, they will need copies of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment--one copy for each student.

Please help! You can be responsible for helping expose inner city teenagers to a great classic novel.
