Can you hear what they are saying on stage? That's my baby talking on stage, but I can't hear her! I am a music teacher for an extremely talented group of performers. As we are nearing the holiday season, it has come to my attention that we do not have microphones to use during our holiday performances. My school is located in the college part of town and many of our parents are students at the university or technological center. Ninety percent of our students are recipients of the Free and Reduced lunch program. Many of our students aren't even able to start school with new shoes or school supplies.

As we near performance season and begin practicing, we will need to learn proper care and maintenance for sound equipment. We can't do this if we don't have the necessary items. We have a great CD player, a good set of speakers, a nice equalizer box, and microphone stands, but we are lacking the microphones. Our performance area was not built with performance acoustics in mind and having microphones is a necessity.

I am asking for a six-pack set of Shure microphones. Having a way to amplify our students during a performance will help the students because their families that come to watch will be able to hear them. I believe it may also help with our crowd control because if the students can be heard in the back of the room, parents are less likely to be distracted.

There is nothing worse than working hard on a project for a performance and not being able to be heard. Your donation to this will help my wonderful performers make their performance heard for all those who come to watch.
