Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 2nd grade in a Title I school. We are in a high-need area with over 80% of our students qualifying for free and reduced lunch.

Recent budget cuts both at school and in the community have left little to no money for supplemental materials. In today's world, students need more than what is written in a textbook to help inspire them to continue learning.

Weekly Reader is a great tool for the classroom. Students love the idea of getting their own magazine every week. Weekly Reader is easy to incorporate into our lessons. Plus students get to take them home when we are done and share them with family and friends.

Your donations would help add a hint of excitement to my student's lives and our classroom. Weekly Reader gives students and families a great opportunity to interact at home.
