What Can Grow?

My students need hands on science materials to discover how plants and animals grow and change including a root vue farm, a life cycles theme box, and 2 sets of live caterpillars.

I teach 3 and 4 year old children. All of my children receive free meals. Many of my children are part of single parent families. For most of my students this is their first experience with school.

Children this age are naturally curious about the world around them. The science center plays a vital role in our understanding our world. At this center children learn how things grow and change. They learn best when they have the opportunity to observe real plants and animals growing.

These hands on science materials will allow my student to observe how plants grow, and the amazing transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly. My students will be able to talk and write about the changes in the plants and animals around them.

Your generous support of this project will allow my preschoolers to observe and discuss the growth and development of plants and caterpillars. With the root vue farm we will be able to see how the roots reach down underground to help the plants grow. We will be able to measure the growth of our plants and see which types of plants grow fastest. We will also be able to monitor the growth of the caterpillars before they turn into butterflies.
