Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The classroom that is taught is a split 4th / 5th grade class that is comprised of students receiving Special Education services. Our school is located in a high need area with students that learn better when taught outside the norm.

The students serviced in my class are driven by drama. They give books and scripts their total attention when they can use energy and reading skills to the day. Currently, we lack having a camcorder in order to capture each skit. Our hope is to be able to send home some of the performances so that the students can show their parents all about what they do at school all while improving reading!

In order to be able to send home performances our class must be able to acquire a camcorder that will capture each skit to be recorded.

This project will improve both self-esteem and reading scores. The students that will benefit from this project are already looking forward to being recorded, they just lack the recorder! You can help them get this piece that will enable them to take home moments to share with parents and family. Won't you please help?
