Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My kindergartners went crazy for Eric Carl! Just his picture printed out with a few basic facts about his life and a few of his books assembled in a basket and they were hooked! My students, who all hail from low socioeconomic homes and almost all are non-native English speakers gain a new love for literacy and reading when pulled in through author study.

I have at least 1 book by Todd Parr, Doreen Cronin, Daniel Kirk, Mo Willems, David Shannon, and Bill Martin Jr in my library already- but my kids need a whole set of each author's books to really dig in to the meat of what the author is about.

Your donation will afford my children 6 or more books by each author and will inspire them as readers and writers.

Your gift will not only help my kids fall in love with 5 new children's book authors - but studying the authors will show them that authors are real people too, just like them, and that even as kindergartners they can too become authors!
