My students need 7 sets of puppets and a puppet theatre to enhance their verbal language skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Murphy's classroom raised $556

I teach Visual and Performing Arts to KIndergarten through Eighth Graders in a low-income, inner-city public school.
Many of my students are ELL (English Language Learners.) I want to introduce them to puppetry so they can work in small groups making up and performing stories for each other and spelling words with the alphabet puppets.
I don't have any puppets in my classroom. I believe students verbalize more freely with a puppet stuck on their hand. Improving verbal skills is one of the early steps to reading. I also wish to integrate storybooks into their puppet play, so they can work on their reading skills in a highly engaging way.
By donating puppets and a puppet stage to the Arts Room you will make reading and language acquisition more fun for my 87 Kindergarten and First Graders, and my 71 Second and Third Graders as well.
