My students need a laptop with external speakers to help with a social studies project about the three branches of government.

Hi. I teach social studies to fourth graders in a rural town in Tennessee. Our school has a large number of economically challenged students; more than 60% qualify for free and reduced lunches. In spite of this fact, the students at my school are hard working and excited about learning.

I would like to teach my students about the three branches of the federal government. In order to fully explore this multi-faceted subject, I need a laptop with external speakers so that I may access and present the numerous educational video opportunities available online. Our county has had severe funding cuts in the area of technology, and no money is available for me to acquire the hardware that I need to see this project through to completion. With the help of this grant, my students will be able to have the material presented in a state-of-the art format which will aid in their understanding and keep them excited about learning.

I need an Acer mini-laptop computer and external speakers which will provide the portability needed to be able to complete this important educational project.
