Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Our classroom setting is perfect for fifth graders to learn both during whole group instruction and in small group time. By providing these children who love to read and learn, with new activities and books, they will increase their fluency and continue to master reading!

READING! READING! and MORE READING! That's what these kids love to do. These fifth grade students like to read modern novels as well as the classic books we read in school.

In order to provide each of these students with the skills they need to move on, it is important that they learn the basic reading/language arts/writing curriculum. By providing my students with new reading material, as well as tools to increase their spelling and grammar, every student will be involved in the everyday learning process and feel that they are indeed enjoying school as well as becoming great citizens! The buckets of letters will help the students in practicing their spelling words, as well as learning pre-fixes & suffixes. Plus by having a book-on-tape, the students that need to listen to the books will have that extra PUSH to assist their reading.

Your help will ensure that the students in my classroom will have books that they will enjoy reading, while also learning. The money going into this project will also allow the students to practice their spelling and become aware of their English language.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
