My students need 28 novels, including works by Stephenie Meyer, Sharon Draper, Walter Dean Myers and Paul Langan.

I teach 8th grade English at a charter school in a high-need community. My students range from a 3rd through post-high school reading level, and participate in a reading and writing workshop in my classroom.

My scholars love to read, but many of the books in my library are older, falling apart, or low interest. We spend 30 minutes every day doing independent reading in the classroom and need high interest books at varied levels!

These books are exciting and varied in reading level. They will draw my scholars in and keep them reading to develop their comprehension and vocabulary skills.

Your help will create life-long readers in my classroom, giving them the opportunity to develop the desire to read that will take them through high school and college. My students take their independent reading books with them to every class, and those that truly love their reading excel in all their classes. In order to develop the comprehension skills necessary to succeed, they need books they really love!
