I teach Algebra and Trig in an urban, high-needs high school, where the majority of students qualify for reduced-price or free lunch, and 25% of the students receive special education services. Our focus is on student-centered success to ensure that each student continues his/her education beyond high school. We are short on technology supplies of the variety that will allow me to teach to the wide range of learning styles. The document camera will be used by teacher and students in my classroom. We can use this projector directly from classroom computers to provide real-time visual enhancement to instruction. Students will be able to use it to display, present and showcase their own work using current technology. I have high expectations that EACH of my students will succeed. Each student has a unique learning style; by using the multiple presentation modes that this tool will make possible, I will reach the widest range of learning styles. Your help will ensure that my students have access to the same technology that is standard is the suburban education classrooms throughout America. It will allow my students to receive instruction in and present their own work using various modes. With your help, my students will be ready for college and the world beyond high school.
