Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a special education teacher in a high needs area in a inner city school. My students are diagnosed with learning disabilities and/or speech and language disorders. Our school is a public school in a struggling district.

Our supplies are very limited and teachers are not given a budget. Everything is being cut. But my students still need to learn. Today I used the new wireless headphones with cd player in the class and the students loved it. They enjoyed the story and asked could they listen to another story. I was happy they were interested. It is difficult to capture interest.

Well now I know my students want to hear and read books using the headphones. I need more books on cd. I would also like to listen to chapter books to introduce them to reading longer books.

Please support my project. My students usually have no or minimal books at home. It is important to surround students with many kinds of books all year. Having more books on cd will do this and in a manner they so enjoy. You have the opportunity to make them smile when they see the package that you have donated. Please help reach the future by donating to our needed project.
