Listening Ears - Audiobooks for Resource Room

My students need 15 audiobooks and a CD player so that they can hear what they read.

I am a one of two special education teachers at a charter school in Indiana. We provide services to about 50 students in a kindergarten through 12th grade environment. We service students with emotional, cognitive, and learning disabilities in all subject areas.

Each grade at our charter school has chosen a set of novels to read, but our students will be left behind without audiobooks to assist them. Currently, we do not have these novels available on audio, and would like to allow the students the opportunity to hear what they are reading.

These audiobooks will help the students increase their reading comprehension, and allow them to participate in class more fully. Currently, it is very hard for them to read and discuss a book in class. With the audiobooks available the students will have the opportunity to read and hear the book at the same time.
