I teach kindergarten to 24 amazing students at a new charter school in California. We have very limited resources and need student materials.

We teach through project based learning and have no textbooks. I need to locate as many hands on materials as possible to make science and social studies come to life for five year-olds.

The Weekly Reader and Time for Kids are bright and colorful with real photographs. They grab students attention and peak their interest, yet they are still written at an age appropriate level for my students. We will be able to read the magazines every week and then they will be able to take them home to share what they have learned with their families.

With your support, you will enable me to teach reading, science and social studies through magazines. We will also be able to create extension activities, such as experimenting, graphing, creating diagrams, etc. and then writing about our experiences and our learning.
