"I teach health at an inner city school in a low economy area with all students receiving free or reduced lunch. I want to help the students to become healthy. I was given health on the first day of school. All summer I was preparing to have the 3-5th grade special education. All summer I was buying materials and planning lessons for that class. I arrived at school on the first day and I was given health without any time to prepare. I already spent hundreds of dollars on materials on what I thought was my class assignment. Please help the students. It is the students that will benefit from this. I am requesting materials to show students healthy living. I am requesting doctor and dentist information. We need food toys for students to learn about healthy and non-healthy choices. I want these students to learn about making the right decisions. Please help. With your help we can ensure that my inner city students have what they need in order to make healthy decisions.
My students need health books, manipulatives and supplies to learn about healthy habits.
The cost of this proposal is $956, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ."

Dear Jill, Mary, Elaine, Joe W., Rena and Josh Kopelman, MIchael, Maria, Ari, Tutors on Wheels, Kim, John and Susan McCarthy, Chris, Charlie, Laura, kATHLEEN, Lilian and Anonymous Donor,
I want to thank everyone so much for helping fund this project. This means so much not only to me but the students that will be using this material daily. New York City is a place where people think of and sometimes those thoughts are not the best ones. The student at my school will make use of every material that all of you so gratefully contributed to. The best things I have done is become a teacher. My doing so helps to impacts students lives. The contribution that you all made does they same thing. I don't know how to express the gratitude that I have for all the support you have given me. This will improve my student's learning by given them the material to learn about healthy living. All the students at my school receive free lunch. The lunch the school provides is not always the most healthy choice but it is food. I want my students to see there are options and ways to be healthy and they include, eating right, working out, hygiene and taking care of your self as a whole. Thanks again. With gratitude, Mr. W.

"I gave to these projects because I want students to have the sweet gear they need.
Also, when I was a kid I stole a graphing calculator because I didn't have one and I couldn't afford to buy it. I failed math that year, but I was quite good at this downhill ski racing game that you could play on said calculator.
Math is real."
