Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Eighth Grade Science teacher in a high needs area, with low socio-economic status, and in an extremely diverse area with multiple languages present.
As teachers with intense science backgrounds, we are hoping to develop curriculum and experiments to assist in our students in taking on the role of scientists using equipment.
I am requesting CBR unities and graphic calculators to illustrate graphs of motion and velocity. You will make it possible for students in an urban school district to experience the use of scientific technology in activities such as Laws of Motion, projectiles, modern technology, and other, more challenging topics they may not other wise be exposed to without access to such equipment.
We will be utilizing the motion detectors to discuss in details Newton's Laws of Motion in regards to projectiles and how this experiment simulates other real life situations. This will assist the students in better understanding and utilizing models as scientists often use.
