Being able to listen closely to pronunciation, repeat words and sentences, and hear stories read aloud has transformed how they participate in class. It gives them a sense of belonging because they can access the same resources as their peers, and it allows them to hear English modeled clearly, which is essential for language growth and their proficiency in their AZELLA assessment. I have already noticed students taking more risks when speaking in class discussions because they feel more prepared and supported.\r\n\r\nThe headphones also open up opportunities for collaboration and creativity. During group projects, students can record and listen to their own voices, design multimedia presentations, and engage in interactive activities with clarity. They can edit, re-listen, and improve their work in ways that were not possible before. All these skills will be helpful by the end of the year when they do their Speaking part in the assessment.\r\nAnother meaningful impact is the way the headphones have leveled the playing field. Some of my students do not have access to technology or quiet learning spaces at home. In class, with the use of these headphones, they now have the chance to focus, practice, and learn without the background noise or distractions that can interfere with comprehension. This gift helps create equity in the classroom, giving every child the chance to succeed regardless of their personal circumstances.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, your donation has shown my students that there are people in the world who care about their education and their future. That sense of support is priceless. They know that someone, besides their teachers and parents, believed enough in them to provide the tools they need. They have even saved the bubble wrappers to protect their headphones. They know the air bubbles, even though it is relaxing for them to pop them, it will protect their headphones for a longer time. As their teacher, I am deeply moved by your kindness. Thank you for believing in me, my students and in the power of education.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity. Your contribution is making an immediate and lasting impact. These thirty headphones are not just tools for learning; they are instruments of opportunity, confidence, and success.\r\n\r\nDel fondo de mi corazón, muchas gracias,","fullyFundedDate":1751724979414,"projectUrl":"project/energy-flows-where-attention-goes-rob/9443184/","projectTitle":"\"Energy Flows Where Attention Goes.\"-Robbins","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wharton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10069169_orig.jpg?crop=2062,2062,x0,y82&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751506294287","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10069169"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54673","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":438,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":6,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":41.1,"schoolId":54673,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Osborn Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Osborn Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/osborn-school-district-8/osborn-middle-school/54673"}
