There's No Place Like Home!

My students need 4 bean bags and 4 story pillows.

I teach 4th grade at a low income school, 84% of the student population lives at the poverty level or below. We house the behavior disorder program for the district and have a student body with many special needs. My classroom has a very diverse mixture of students including English language learners, special education, homeless, and behaviorally challenged students.

For many of my students school is a safe zone. Not only the place where they are educated but the place where their basic needs are met and they are shown the love and guidance needed to prosper. I strive to make the classroom a home for them, a safe haven. They need a comfortable place to fall in love with learning. I would love to set up a cozy classroom library area full of bean bags, pillows, and a rug where we can come together to fall into reading and writing.

We would greatly appreciate 4 new bean bag chairs and four new pillows to bring some color and life to this important area of the room. The students will be able to do some of their reading, thinking, and writing while being relaxed and comfortable.

Your generosity will make it possible for my students to develop a life-long love for learning while feeling at home in their classroom!
