My math students need what it takes to connect them with the rest of the world. I am a 6th grade math teacher, teaching students with a wide variety of levels of understanding.

Our school has worked hard to provide us with training and online resources to help our students excel in not only our designated subject area but also to help ready them for the technological world we are living in. The problem is, we do not have the classroom resources to implement these skills effectively.

In my classroom, I like to implement a variety of teaching methods and learning opportunities to help my students be successful. We have classroom blogs, individual student blogs, online math tutorials, tutoring programs and games, but no convenient way to access them. With only 2 computer labs available for the whole campus, it is not convenient, or an effective use of time, to take the whole class to the lab on a regular basis. I am in need of 2 small laptop computers that would be rotated among the students, giving them the opportunity to work on the above mentioned activities.

Technology is such a major part of the workplace and I want my students to have all the skills they will need to make their mark in society. I also want to give every learner an opportunity to be successful in the area of math by providing them with a variety of methods of learning, which these computers would provide.
