Fabric book covers for our music textbooks would thrill our students! I see 4 classes per grade of grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Second graders through 5th grade use beautiful textbooks which were purchased through a textbook adoption about 3 years ago.

I have been told that these books ALL need to have book covers on them, but that has never taken place because so many children have their hands on these books in any given week, paper book covers would be impractical. Because we are a low income school and I have an extremely low budget, acquiring fabric book covers, the only practical solution, has not been able to happen.

It occurred to me this week that perhaps through DonorsChoose, we could have fabric book covers for our music books. The students would be so thrilled to have these beautiful book covers to protect their books.

My daughter has had book covers like this for her personal books, and since they are washable, we have used the same book covers for three years. I envision that these book covers, too, provided through DonorsChoose, would be used for years to come, and I am also of the opinion that being able to wash the covers (in this unfortunate era of needing to guard against flu viruses, etc.) would be a tremendous sort of side benefit. You, as a donor, would not only be helping to protect the life of our textbooks but the health of our children as well.
