Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hi! I teach the 6th grade in an urban setting. My students have limited resources to help them learn about the world around them. The area I teach in is considered a low economic area with 95% of our students receiving free lunch. The challenge I face is giving them the opportunity to see outside their neighborhood. I would like to bring the world to them, so they can experience different cultures and ideas.

I started off the school year teaching my students about the city they live in. The response I have gotten is amazing. They can't wait until Social Studies to learn about their city, it's history and current events. The class is excited to learn and I thought that the Time for Kids magazine would be a great asset to our learning classroom.

The Time for Kids magazine will allow the students to read at their level. The magazine will help the students build on their own education. Time for Kids will allow the students to learn about other cities, states, and countries. The students will become well-educated citizens in our society with your generous donation.

Your donation will bring the world right to our classroom door and will be appreciated throughout the year!
