To help students become aware of endangered coral and animals of the oceans, each student will choose one kind of coral and one sea animal to research and create a flip book.
The wide ruled composition book is for daily journaling as the students read stories.
Without the books the students won't have journals. It would be great to start the year off the right way having them begin journaling as we read. With the journal students can write out the ways they can relate and find a personal connection to the story.
Through journaling the students improve their writing skills, the ability to express themselves in writing, and to create.
Your consideration of the request for daily journals and a flipbook is sincerely appreciated. Without your help many students may not be able to afford both of these books, and may miss out on great writing opportunities. It would be nice for them to all have each of these books. It would sad to see any child without what they need to activily participate.
