This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach senior English in a low-income community. My students are usually non-readers who would benefit from this novel because it not only grabs their attention, it crosses the curriculum to combine English and history.

Our school has only a few copies of Fallen Angels and we cannot afford to buy more at this time. In order to teach this book, students have to share, which makes it very difficult for them to read.

If each student could check out their own copy, they would be able to read or reread at home, work on study questions and essays without having to share the book.

My students have unlimited potential and limited resources. This novel is one that my students enjoy and continually ask to check out in order to reread and discuss. This will allow my students the freedom to utilize this book without the constraints the classroom hour with limited copies.
