Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Music is essential to the experiences of every child. At our school we try to actively involve the students in our Performing Arts classes in public performance. For our Holiday Presentation last year, we had four students with no prior training, accompany the choir (each on a separate voice part) for three public performances. They were able to secure the rhythm, timing, and skill necessary to assist with the public performance.

We have a large classroom and have recently received Yamaha keyboards to involve our children directly in musical experiences. they can play melodies from a patented method which allows them to participate in direct musical experiences with limited abilities. Many of them have never had the opportunity to play a musical instrument. They obviously can work more intently without constant interruption. The headphones would provide a more quiet environment.

These headphones will allow our students to avoid having extraneous sound from other instruments interfere with their practice sessions. It is really difficult to concentrate when there is the sound of several instruments which can be frustrating for some students.

At our school we try to actively involve the students in our Performing Arts classes in public performance. Through the use of these headphones, my students can better prepare their musical performances and prepare their presentations uninterrupted.
