"I am a second year art teacher for a high needs district. I teach pre-k through 5th grade in a school that has a high population of special needs students. Art is a very important subject in any school, especially in high needs areas. Art serves as an excellent outlet for children, and therefore they should receive the best art education possible.

Last year my students and I only had small sized construction paper to make projects with. Now that I am feeling confident with my art lessons, I really feel that my students would benefit from having large sized construction paper to work on. There is a big difference between working large and small, and my students can only understand that through experience. In addition, many young students find it easier to work large because the bigger something is the easier it is to paint it, draw it, cut it, etc.

I am requesting 5 packs of 18"x24" construction paper in the primary and secondary colors, as well as black, brown, and white. This will enable my students to create large pieces of artwork which we will use to decorate the hallways of our school, among other things. I know that my students will be really excited to make art projects on big vibrant pieces of quality construction paper to be displayed for all to see.

Please consider helping us make fun, beautiful artwork.

Every child should be given the chance to create something wonderful...

Your generosity is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

My students need 10 colors of 18x24 construction paper.

Dear David, Jesse, Jeni, Kristi, Janice and Sarah G.,
Thank you so much for donating to my students. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Given the recent economic climate, my school barely has a budget for art this year, and I am lucky to even have my job. My students and I are still using last year's supplies, and our construction paper shelves are running low! Your donation couldn't have come at a better time!

I know my students will enjoy countless hours of fun and learning with your generous donation!

With gratitude,
Ms. K.
