"Have you ever wanted to read a picture book that was so big, it took up an entire wall?!

I am a new teacher and am currently teaching third grade in Virginia. I love the curiosity and level of enthusiasm that my students bring into the classroom every day. I teach in an inclusion classroom where I have students of varying abilities, ranging from students with special needs to gifted students. Every morning, each of my students walks into my room ready to learn and their positive attitudes are infectious!

Unfortunately, the technology at our school is not quite state of the art. I would love to be able to make my lessons more interactive by demonstrating how to use math manipulatives, showing maps and graphs in Social Studies and allowing students to share their writing pieces with their classmates... all on a big screen!

A document camera would allow my third graders to do all of the above and so much more. They would be able to share their artwork or "show and tell" items with their classmates. They could volunteer to have their writing critiqued (surprisingly, they LOVE doing this). Also, because it projects onto a big screen, a document camera would allow me to walk my students through the directions to complete an assignment, rather than trying to hold up a tiny paper copy for everyone to see. Our math and social studies curricula incorporate a lot of maps and graphs, which would be easy to discuss and analyze using a document camera. Of course, picture books suddenly become more interesting and engaging, as the illustrations are magnified so students in the back can see just as well as the students in the front. As you can see, a document camera would be a valuable addition to our classroom and would benefit all of my students, present and future.

Thank you for your support! Your generosity will allow my students to actively participate in engaging and interesting lessons, while also giving them a sense of ownership of their learning in my classroom. HIDE

My students need one document camera to enhance their learning experiences in our classroom. The cost of this proposal is $924, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."
