Help keep fifth grade as engaged in learning as we are in our friend the doodle dog! I teach fifth grade in a high-poverty and need school. I teach all core subjects and physical education to my students.

Last school year was my first year teaching and was a definite struggle to get students engaged. Moreover, it was a struggle to get students to love to learn. My students face many obstacles, most of which are a result of poverty. It is an obstacle for my students to enjoy to learn and see that going to school can lead to a bright future. My students struggle outside of the school day and face a struggle within the classroom as many students are below grade level, which makes learning from a textbook extremely challenging.

Your donation of hands-on games and activities will help my students in mathematics and literacy. This donation of a hands-on vocabulary and reading comprehension library, grammar game, math game, and vocabulary activity will undoubtedly change the outlook my students have on education. These games and activities will give them an excitement and passion to learn how to read better and take away meaning from what was read. It will also teach them, in a fun and hands-on way, the skills they will need to be successful during state mandated testing.

Your help will help give my students a reason to make it through the school door each day. Please help my students have fun and learn at the same time!
