Mystery Solved?

My students need some mystery added to their reading lives. Sixty-one books including, "Jigsaw Jones" and "A to Z Mysteries" series.

I teach reading and writing to students with special needs in an urban middle school. These kids are at a delicate developmental stage (adolescence!) and this, when combined with their learning disabilities and a lack support/resources at home, presents some uniquely challenging obstacles.

It's particularly difficult for them to connect with the right books (i.e., low level and high interest) that will help them progress as readers. While we talk a lot about the importance of thoughtful, focused reading, students simply can't practice that without appropriate books in hand.

My students are really into mysteries and they're always looking for new books in this genre. The “A to Z Mysteries” and “Jigsaw Jones" and "Capital Mysteries" series are great because they’re written on a low level and have recurring characters and themes that hook readers and help them succeed with multiple books.

Here's where you come in! These kids will not become better readers if they don't read and they just can't do that if they don't have access to the right kinds of books. Please help solve this (not so mysterious) mystery!
