My school in rural SC is in a high poverty area. The rising fifth graders are in need of basic necessities for their educational success.

With state funding, we have a computer lab that is used by all students in our school. Unfortunately, there is no way for individual students to safely save the projects on which they work. Research, writings, etc. are subject to inadvertent "hackers" or electric blips. Students get very frustrated when their hard work and effort gets backed up.

If each student had access to his or her own flash drive, they would be able to save their work in a secondary location, therefore being able to continue instead of starting over.

Students of even average income parents can access something so simple as a flash drive. These students come from such low socioeconomic conditions that common supplies are a stretch. You can make a difference. These inexpensive tools can further their research and drastically improve the work that is published.
