This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a wonderful classroom located in a large urban city in northern California. We are a high poverty school with 80% free and reduced lunch.
We have four fish who are need of a classroom aquarium! We had living in a bowl, but they have grown and oddly made it through the summer! We would love to enrich our classroom with an aquarium. We have a science unit on fish, and this large classroom aquarium will help us learn all about fish, plus responsibility feeding and cleaning the tank.
Do you love the way students become interested in science at such a young age. Especially when these kindergartners look at animals and start naming the parts. Can you remember yourself at that age? I bet some of you are scientists.
Remember naming the animal parts in biology? Well, these fish are alive and well and in need of a great home called the class aquarium! We do not have a PTA or extra money, but we are not in doubt that a wonderful donor like you will help us get an aquarium for our classroom.
A class aquarium will promote science. This is a special classroom aquarium that is an easy view design to help young learners look at fish from every angle. It promotes the big idea in science and helps them categorize one fish from another by making comparisons. Your kind donation no matter how small will help these children learn science through...fish!
We have a Foss science unit that has us buy fish for the students, but no aquarium is included in the kit. With your donation we will be able for all three kindergarten classes to look at the fish in a wonderful environment. We thank you for helping us create a wonderful classroom filled with living organisms we can study and learn from.
