Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach kindergarten in a very high Hispanic populated and very low income based school.

Getting parents involved in their child's education is difficult. Kids don't even seem to have the materials at home to do homework, let alone doing hands on projects.

This project will provide each student with a take home backpack filled with the supplies needed for each specific project. This will provide opportunities for the students to do projects at home with their families. Also included in the backpack will be instructions for each project in both English and Spanish. I have been collecting supplies for the projects over the last couple of years. All we need now are the backpacks to make it happen!

Your help will ensure that my students have the opportunities to learn at home as well as at school. You will also make it possible for their parents to be more involved in their education at home, which is where education starts, at home with parents.
