Fiction and Non-Fiction Magazines Are Not Fantasy

My students need 10 copies each of READ, Current Science, and Current Events magazines.

This project expired on January 2, 2010.

I teach eighth grade language arts at a rural school in North Carolina. We are working hard to improve student achievement.

Our students and teachers have been working hard to improve the atmosphere, reputation and achievement at our school. We have begun to see the fruits of our labors and it is imperative that we continue to reach our goal. In order to do this our students need high interest and relevant materials. I am purchasing ten copies of READ, Current Science, and Current Event magazines for my classroom. Standardized test and real life work experiences demand that our students excel at reading non-fiction texts. The stories, design and layout of these magazines will greatly appeal to my students.

You can help my students have greater access to these magazines. Due to the high cost of the subscriptions, I am limited to the number of subscriptions that I can afford to purchase. With your help I can add additional subscriptions that will allow me to use the magazine in whole class instruction.

Your generosity will help me engage more students and increase student access to high quality reading materials.
