Solve a Mystery, Learn Some History
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I will be teaching 5th graders in NC this coming year. Our school has a large population of English Speakers of Other Languages. We also have a high percentage of at risk students; approximately 75% or more of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Several of my students have never ventured outside of North Carolina.
Did you ever want to be a detective or maybe a world traveler? These mystery books will allow my students to become both. My classroom needs a supply of interesting, intriguing, upper level chapter books, as I have taught 2nd grade for many years and do not have a wealth of chapter books for older students.
The Carole Marsh Mysteries are interesting chapter books written around a 5th grade reading level. My students will be learning about the North America in Social Studies this year. I hope that these books will inspire them enough to want to learn more about some of the real places in the stories.
With your help my students will learn to not only love reading, but also gain some historical knowledge in the process. They will be exposed to different places across the United States and even the world by just opening up a book donated by you!
