"I serve special education and general education students in a 2nd grade collaborative team teaching classroom. Our students are from a high-need area, and 90% receive free and reduced lunch. Due to the makeup of our classroom, it is essential that our room is organized to promote efficient transitions, and allow for lots of differentiated small-group work (to meet the instructional needs of all of our students). Currently, our school is working hard to combat the recent budget cuts - however, funds for classroom supplies are limited. My co-teacher and I stretch our salaries to buy needed supplies, but do not have enough furniture to best organize our classroom. What we do have is 20-30 years old, and is not holding up to the wear and tear The furniture I have requested will help us maximize the space in our classroom, and create a clean, neat learning environment. Due to the mixture of different skill levels in our room, we utilize small-groups often, and a portable easel would allow us to display information to different groups at the same time. Your help will make it possible for our students to work in a more streamlined environment, where needed books, materials, and teaching supplies are handy, organized, and easy to use. Thank you so much in advance for your much-needed assistance.
My classroom needs 3 different bookshelves and 1 tabletop easel.

Dear Andrew, Leslie, Elizabeth, Steve, ann and tom keary, Dre and Shiva, Anne & Jon, Michael, Nidal, Ron, Eli V, jillian, Anne Marie, Vanessa and Anonymous Donor,
Thank you so much for all of your help and generosity in supplying my students the furniture needed to help us organize our classroom. When the new pieces arrived the students were overjoyed. They all immediately started helping to set up the classroom. Many of them said things like "oh, now I can see the math stuff" and "this will make things easier". After teaching them the new vocabulary word 'efficient' they all chimed in with ways we could best use the new furniture to make our learning routines more 'efficient'. My class is comprised of amazing students who love to learn and persevere through challenges like learning disabilities and more. Many of their challenges truly make transitions in the classroom difficult - whether due to memory problems, visual problems, or hearing impairments. Having a clean, organized classroom really makes a difference and allows the students to save learning time. Your donations truly have an immediate and huge impact on the learning in my classroom. Not only will my students this year benefit, but students in our school for years to come. I am so overjoyed and can't wait to upload photos of the students using their new materials. Please look out for their thank you letters to you. Thank you so much, again. With gratitude, Ms. C.

Dear Andrew, Leslie, Elizabeth, Steve, ann and tom keary, Dre and Shiva, Anne & Jon, Michael, Nidal, Ron, Eli V, jillian, Anne Marie, Vanessa and Anonymous Donor,
What can I say - I am so, so excited to use these materials to help our students! As some of you know, this year our school's funding for the 2nd grade CTT funding was cut, so I was moved to a self-contained 12:1:1 classroom at the beginning of the year. The furniture and supplies in this room were even more dated that in my pervious room. This new furniture and supplies will change our room so much. Some of my amazing students have visual or memory impairments, so transitions are especially time consuming. These materials will help the students have smooth transitions, be able to find and use the materials they need in an efficient manner, and in general will extend the amount of teaching and learning time they really need. Thank you so much for your generosity and care for my students. These donations will benefit students for years to come. I look forward to posting pictures of my students using the materials and allowing them to write thank you notes. They will be so happy! With gratitude, Ms. C.

"We donated to Ms. Crile's classroom because we know she is a great teacher who is extremely dedicated to her smart and funny students. Her students deserve a better classroom to complement all that they're learning in order to one day change the world for the better. Good luck!"
