My students are an eager and extremely creative group of 5th and 6th graders who meet weekly to write, edit and create short films to express themselves. We are in desperate need of an external video camera microphone and a few accessories for it so that we can create films with greater sound and volume. Attaching a microphone to our video camera or using a boom pole will give our films a much greater audio quality, a must if we are to spread our messages to the world. An external mic will pick up sounds more accurately and so much more clearly. We would love to have this Rode Shotgun Camcorder Microphone when we are filming. It will allow us so many more possibilities. The microphone will pick up all of the sound coming from the general direction in which it is pointed. We want to be able to add interviews to our films, and this type of audio equipment is just what we need. Shooting film outdoors is also a problem without an external microphone, as the wind can often distort sounds and muffle the speaker. When it comes to shooting great video, the quality of the image is only one part of the equation. We've discovered that sound can be just as important. Unfortunately, most camcorders, ours included, come with an internal microphone that is sorely lacking in sound quality. To overcome this issue, many videographers invest in an external microphone. These accessories provide the additional flexibility and quality necessary to deliver high-fidelity sound. We are artists, embarking on the film making journey and truly hope you will consider supporting our request. The arts are truly a necessary part of education and life!
