Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach in a high-need community where supplies are limited but my students' desire to learn is limitless. My first graders are fascinated with science. They are burning for books to teach them more about our world and to help answer their endless questions.

How can I feed their curiosity when we have very few science books in our class? I want to be able to create a science library where my students can reach into a basket and pull out a world of knowledge.

We need books about science in our classroom. These books will be used for read-aloud, guiding reading groups, and independent reading. These books will become an integral part of our classroom and will be used as a jumping off board for science experiments, projects, and investigations.

Help me turn my first graders into mad scientists! Nothing would make me happier than to see my students excited, engaged, and loving learning about science. Thank you for your support!
